Apple is ready for a big change in iPhones after 11 years
It hasn’t been since Apple’s iPhone 14 series was introduced, but leaks about the company’s next year devices have already begun to emerge. New leaks suggest that the iPhone 15 series will be equipped with a USB Type-C charging port.
This will be the first time in 11 years (in 2023) that Apple will make such a change to iPhones. Earlier in 2012, the company replaced the 30-pin dock connector with a Lightning port. But now, with the European Union passing a law mandating the use of USB Type-C ports for all electronic devices from 2024, Apple will have to change the charging port to sell its iPhones.
According to the leak, the iPhone 15 series of phones worldwide, including in Europe, will be given the USB Type-C charging port and will remove the Lightning port. Earlier reports also said Apple is testing a USB Type-C charging port in iPhones.
Apart from the USB Type-C port, all iPhone 15 series phones are likely to feature Dynamic Island, which was limited to the iPhone 14 Pro models this year. Another report claimed that Apple will replace the Pro Max model with the Ultra in 2023, as it did with the Apple Watch this year.
This ultra model will be completely different from other phones in the iPhone 15 series.
